About Lubina Bogoeva

I am a California based Web User Experience Designer, specializing in doing a good job. I have been designing high-tech financial, biotech and consumer websites for over 10 years. My professional experience includes:

I practice user centered design - placing the users needs first, basing my decisions on the best practices and the latest research in the field of user experience. I always strive for a balance of aesthetics, functionality, and business success. I currently work as a Sr. Web UX Designer for Thermo Fisher Scientific, one of the world's leading biotech companies where I'm proud to help drive forward the progress in life science research. I drive the creation and re-design of web pages to introduce and promote products, to optimize the user experience, to drive sales, to educate and inspire. I chose nature inspired images for my website to celebrate the beauty of nature and the importance of life science.

One of the world's leading biotech companies with over 15 billion in revenue.

The UX Process

THE HOW AND WHY OF USER EXPERIENCE DESIGN

To paraphrase Tolstoy, all the happy user sites are alike, but each poorly designed website makes the visitors unhappy in its own way. The user friendly sites share these traits:

  • Effective websites lets the users accomplish specific tasks that they want and/or need.
  • Efficient websites enable completing the task within a reasonable amount of time with reasonable effort.
  • Engaging sites make the completion of the task a pleasant, positive experience. A site that is elegantly designed will make the whole process look more pleasant.
  • Error tolerant sites help the users avoid mistakes and easily recover from mistakes.
  • Easy to learn websites contain organization, workflow, icons, and other elements that are based on what the users already know.
